AVPreserve Crew at SAA 2014

AVPreserve consultants Josh Ranger, Bert Lyons, and Rebecca Chandler will be attending and participating in next week’s Society of American Archivists Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.

On Tuesday, Josh will be presenting on our Cost of Inaction Calculator at the Research Forum, which always brings together a fascinating program of current research projects, especially along more technological lines. On Thursday, Josh will also be a part of the panel presenting on the acquisition of digital records at the Appraisal & Acquisition Section business meeting, speaking specifically about leveraging metadata for ingest and management of digital audiovisual assets and highlighting tools such as BWFMetaEdit and MDQC.

As Chair of the Career Development Subcommittee and Vice-chair of the Oral History Section, Bert will be supporting the Oral History Section business meeting on Thursday and has been a part of the team putting together the Career Center Networking Cafe that will be running from Wednesday through Saturday. The Cafe offers free career and resume advisement, a board to post job openings and resumes, and a space for other mentoring and networking opportunities.

Of course Rebecca, Bert, and Josh will all be at the AV Archives Night party and #SAA14 Tweetup on Wednesday night at the Black Cat, as well as many other events during the week. Keep an eye out for them to say hello and chat. And buttons.
